Environmental Impact of WELLBI Garments
At WELLBI, we honour traditional craftsmanship by incorporating handlooms into our production process wherever possible. This not only reduces water and energy use but also supports skilled artisans, bringing a timeless, sustainable approach to modern fashion. Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond words—it’s backed by measurable action. Here’s how each WELLBI garment makes a tangible impact on the planet.
Water Savings: 1,100 Liters per Garment
Conventional Impact
According to World Wildlife Fund and National Geographic’s “Make Each Choice Count” series, producing a single cotton shirt requires approximately 2,700 liters of water across its lifecycle—from crop cultivation to dyeing and finishing. (How Your T-Shirt Can Make a Difference)
Our Approach
Our best-seller bamboo t-shirts use 67% less water compared to conventional cotton t-shirts (average Life Cycle Analysis). Our commitment to reducing environmental impact includes using traditional handlooms in parts of our production process. Handlooms use minimal water and energy compared to mechanized processes, which aligns with our sustainable practices. Combined with High IQ Dyes and GOTS-certified processes, this approach helps us reduce our footprint on the planet.
Impact
By sourcing eco-conscious materials and applying sustainable dye techniques, each WELLBI garment saves an average of 1,100 litres of water—enough to fill over 150 buckets.
CO₂ Emissions Reduction: 6.5 kg per Garment
Conventional Impact
The textile and garment industry contributes between 6% and 8% of global carbon emissions, amounting to approximately 1.7 billion tonnes of CO₂ annually (International Labour Organization).
Our Approach
Our bamboo t-shirts not only save water but also actively absorb CO₂ from the environment, helping offset carbon emissions naturally. Additionally, we use natural fibres like cotton, linen, and bamboo. High IQ Dyes ensures that dyeing and production processes are cleaner and safer.
Impact
Through responsible material choices and energy-efficient manufacturing, each WELLBI garment prevents approximately 6.5 kg of CO₂ emissions from entering the atmosphere—aligning with industry studies showing that sustainable production methods can reduce emissions by up to 50% per garment.
